Each time you continue and try to download the required software you get the error of "Hilti PROFIS AutoUpdate Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error..." after following all the instructions and only clicking the required buttons. Below we walk through a typical model and calculation for the EM-BOLT boltable embed plate (Model BEP-2) using HILTI Profis Anchor Software, just like you would for a standard field welded embed plate design. The EM-BOLT BEP-2 Model embed plate has been analyzed using the HILTI Software, a commonly used anchor or embed plate design software used in the structural engineering field. The software used in this example is Profis Anchor version 2.8.1.
The BEP-2 model embed plate has been analyzed using this well-known software and has been validated by full scale load testing with observed failure loads exceeding 600 times higher than the allowable loads of ACI-318, Chapter 17. Although EM-BOLT boltable embed plates are a new innovative technology, one should not fear innovation, but embrace the benefits that new technology can provide, while using a software that is commonly used and accepted by practicing Structural Engineers.
The Hilti PROFIS Engineering software provides several design capabilities, including the design of base plates and anchor rods. A command has been added to the RAM Structural System to invoke PROFIS Engineering and to facilitate the transfer of material, geometry, and load information from the structural model to PROFIS Engineering for the design of base plates, particularly Frame column base plates.
The PC Software "HILTI PROFIS Connect" connects the HILTI devices Tachymeter POS 15 and Tachymeter POS 18 with CAD systems as easy as possible. The Software allows transferring 3D points from the total station to the CAD system and sending 3D points from the CAD system to the device.Transferring points to the CAD system can be used for direct drawing in the CAD system using the total station. As an example: you start the "create walls" function in the CAD system, then you can easily draw the walls by tracing the room corners with the total station. The other way (from the total station to the CAD system) allows to locate points from the CAD system in the real environment.The software is very easy to use as it requires almost no settings. The total station, which is connected to the PC via the USB interface, is automatically found. Some CAD systems have direct optimized connections, but additional CAD systems can be manually connected in a simple manner, if these provide input via the keyboard.The PROFIS Connect software was developed for HILTI in the end of 2014 by GEM Team Solutions in cooperation with the HILTI development team of the device software. In summer of 2015 the version 1.1 was released that contained support to additional CAD systems and the possibility to manually include additional CAD systems.
